Skipper Libby Challinor and Caitlin Gunnell helped the under-16s net a superb cup victory over league champions Handsworth Juniors, writes Marie Gibb.
An even start saw chances fall to both sides before the Belles made the breakthrough.
The goal came as Jade Smedley found captain Challinor and her effort crashed off the post before nestling past Handsworth’s goalkeeper.
Doncaster’s defence - made up of Kelly Griffiths, Melissa Waters, Sophie Acaster, Carmen Vine and Abby Freeman - stood tall throughout as Handsworth tried to get back into the game.
And the Sheffield outfit came close to levelling, however, struck the crossbar.
The Belles gave their opponents an uphill task 10 minutes after the interval as the tenacious Gunnell skipped her way through the challenges before slotting in Doncaster’s second of the game.
With a two-goal cushion, the Belles contingent all played their part in stifling any hope of a comeback from Handsworth.
And the final whistle sparked wild celebrations as Doncaster collected the coveted piece of silverware.
