There were six different scorers - three going on to get hat-tricks - as the unbeaten Doncaster Belles’ under-15s claimed maximum points against the spirited ten girls from Sheffield FC, writes Nigel Watson.

On a drizzly morning and a heavy field, the Sheffield visitors gave a determined display despite the 14-0 scoreline.

It was one-way traffic throughtout the first half, with the goals coming at regular intervals after the side’s ‘Lass of the Grass’ Libby Watson volleyed home a corner to open the scoring.

In the second half the visitors continued to play in a spirited fashion but had no answer to the movement of the Belles’ team.

Doncaster’s goalscorers were: Kirsty Nelthorpe 3, Libby Watson 3, Kelsey Douglas 3, Chloe Dean 2, Jess Hassall 2, and Naomi Oldridge.

The Belles next face another South Yorkshire derby as they travel to face Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
