Doncaster Belles’ under-15s finished 2013 on top of the league as they continued their impressive 100 per cent record with a tenth straight victory.

Travelling to Wickersley, Belles took time to get into their usually charismatic style despite running away with a 5-2 win.

Fliss Hannington opened the scoring for Doncaster as she coolly fired in from a corner.

However, chances remained hard to come by for both teams in a stop-start encounter.

But Doncaster managed to go into the half-time 2-0 up as Jess Hassall reacted first to force the ball home from close range.

Belles started the second period in good fashion with Kelsey Douglas getting a quick-fire double - first beating two defenders and finding the bottom corner then volleying into the same corner.

Wickersley pulled a goal back from a free header, then Kirsty Nelthorpe restored belles four goal cushion with another fine volley.

Wickersley finished with their second of the game after beating the offside trap and netting at the death.

Keelie Earle won Belles’ ‘Lass of the Grass’.

The side are next in action on January 11, away to Handsworth.
