Doncaster Belles: Jennie leads Juniors to victory

A brace from Jennie Warren helped table-topping Belles’ under-11s Reds on their way to a 6-2 win, writes Chris Wright.

Further strikes from Abbie Mason, Ellie Ball, Gracie Horne and Courtney Highfield completed the scoring against Sheffield FC.

Their under-11s Whites were up against it when they met Dronfield Town. Despite playing good football, the Belles lost 7-0.

Five goals apiece from Jodie Shakespeare and Emily Burgin saw the under-13s record a 21-0 victory over Rotherham United.

The others came from Amy Connor, new girl Aimee Hickinbottom, Megan Lock, Chloe Read (2), Leoni Price (2), Leah Downing (2) and Izzy Trevillion (2).

The under-18s suffered their heaviest ever defeat, going down 10-0 to a very skilful Barnsley Ladies Reds.

The Belles were able to walk off the pitch with heads held high despite the scoreline as they battled throughout.

The NERWFL side came away from Malet Lambert on the wrong end of a 4-3 scoreline. Belles scorers were Ellen Smith (2) and Chantelle Willis.
