Reds director Don Rowing has been delighted with the way the club’s pre-season campaign has gone and praised the work so far of boss Keith Hill and No 2 Dave Flitcroft.
The Reds have been a revelation in the build-up to the league campaign, but it is the style of football that has pleased Rowing. He said: “I think the pleasing thing is not so much the results rather than the way we’ve played. We have played from the back and taken the chances which have come our way. It will be difficult at (opening-day opponents) Nottingham Forest, but the new signings have settled in well. Keith and his assistant have a philosophy that they want to play football.”
The Reds’ build-up included Saturday’s 5-0 rout of Scunthorpe.
