James Fletcher’s hat-trick helped Sheffield Bankers knock out Main.
Rob Jerrison was also on target for the Bankers in a 4-3 win at Davy Sports Club.
Swinton Athletic, bottom of the County Senior League Premier Division, also went out of the League Cup at the third round stage last weekend.
Swinton’s troubles continued when they lost 1-0 to Athersley Recreation Reserves.
Houghton Main bounced straight back from last week’s league defeat to Frecheville Reserves, to register a 3-1 away win over Millmoor Juniors.

In the U21 division, Houghton Main moved up to fifth in the table with their fourth straight victory.
Main beat Bawtry Town 3-1 at the Keepmoat Stadium.
Davy FC U21 ended a run of four straight defeats, with a 3-0 win over Swinton Athletic U21.
Goals from Nathan Storey, Dylan Vickery and Adam McCarthy gave Davy only their second league win of the season.
Swinton Athletic, Houghton Main and Wombwell Main both return to Premier Division action this weekend, with home ties.
Swinton face Millmoor Juniors, while Wombwell Main host Swallownest Miners Welfare.
Houghton Main, meanwhile, face Ecclesfield Red Rose.
In the Under 21 division, Swallownest Miners Welfare face their Houghton Main counterparts.
Swinton Athletic face Valley Knights.
