Paul Cooke says the Dons’ link-up with Doncaster Rovers could be a springboard to the Super League.

Rovers and Dons play back-to-back at the Keepmoat Stadium on Easter Monday in the latest instalment of ‘Sporting Club Doncaster’.

Cooke said: “This town has got a lot to offer the top division of rugby league, if the financial backing is there.

“Maybe the link-up with Doncaster Rovers can help us get into the top division.

“It’s still early days obviously. But any sort of investment or link-up which can help the rugby league club or the football club is always going to be very welcome.

“This link-up should be good for both clubs,” he added.

“We both play out of a fantastic facility and the football team are doing really well and looking to get back in the Championship. Fingers crossed they will do.”

Dons also travel to Sheffield Eagles tomorrow night.
