This might be one of the best chances we get of stringing a sequence of wins together - because we’re not playing at the Keepmoat Stadium for another two weeks!
The win at Rochdale was a brilliant result, especially after going behind.
And if Rovers can maintain that level of performance this weekend, you’d have to fancy them to win at Crewe on Saturday and hopefully at Barnsley next Tuesday too.
The players are unlikely to admit it but they’re probably enjoying playing away more than they are at home.
The stats certainly seem to suggest that. It’s one win at home this season, compared to nine on the road - which takes some getting your head round.
It’s not like the players are getting pelters off the Keepmoat crowd either. At some of the clubs I played for, you really got hammered when things were going wrong. It’s not like that at Doncaster. If anything, it’s the manager who the fans seem to be taking their frustration out on.
Still, when Rovers play away the pressure is probably lifted and the players can probably express themselves and relax a bit more.
It took a while to get our noses in front at Rochdale but our persistence paid off.
I spoke to a lot of people who weren’t confident about us getting anything at Spotland. And when you go one down you fear the worst.
But that’s two successive away games in the league now that Rovers have come from behind to win and, for me, that just goes to show what this team is capable of.
Whenever I hear Paul Dickov speak, or whenever I get the chance to attend one of his post-match press conferences, he does not strike me as a man under pressure - and he probably isn’t.
The board have backed him by sanctioning loan deals for Andy Butler, Sam Johnstone and Enda Stevens. And I think as long as we’re in contention for a top half finish, maybe the play-offs, the club’s hierarchy will be satisfied.
Over these next few weeks there’s a great opportunity to string a few results together and move up the table.
I say it every week but I still think this team is good enough to finish in the top six.
I’ve not seen anything else in this league to be scared of.
