Doncaster Rovers Belles skipper Leandra Little has urged her teammates to remain focused as they close in on promotion back to FAWSL1.

Sunday’s 5-0 win at Millwall Lionesses kept the Belles on top of FAWSL2 and on course for a top two finish.

Glen Harris’ side need three wins from their final five league games to be mathematically certain of ending the season in an automatic promotion spot.

“Our main aim at the start of the season was to be promoted obviously back to FAWSL1, but I’ve also said all along that we want to go up as champions,” said Little.

“That’s another one crossed off the list and we’ve got five cup finals left.

“We need to make sure we defend well, and play the football that we know we’re capable of playing.

“When we get the ball down we’ve got some really able girls on that pitch, but first and foremost there’s got to be concentration and focus.”

Another two goals from Courtney Sweetman-Kirk were the icing on the cake for Belles as they swept aside Millwall.

Beth England, Sue Smith and Nicole Dale were also on target at the New Den.

Belles turn their attention back to the FAWSL Continental Tyres Cup on Thursday when they host Durham Women (7.45pm). They travel to Sunderland on Sunday in the same competition.
