New signing Keith Treacy is expected to make his debut for Barnsley tomorrow in the club’s opening clash of the season against Crawley.
The former Owls and Blades loan midfielder was a late arrival at Oakwell on Wednesday as Reds’ boss Danny Wilson swooped to sign his tenth new signing of the summer.
Treacy, aged, 25, has penned a two-year deal with the Reds having been released by his former club Burnley, last season’s Championship winners.
And with Premier League experience under his belt, Reds’ boss Danny Wilson looks to have made himself an excellent signing ahead of the new League One season.
“Barnsley have given me the opportunity to get back on the pitch and playing,” said Treacy. “I want to achieve things this season. Hopefully the club will get out of League One.”
Meanwhile, former Sheffield Wednesday loan hitman Leroy Lita is in talks with the Reds about a possible move to Oakwell.
Lita, aged 29, is a free agent following is release from Swansea City and netted six goals in 13 starts for the Owls when his opportunities at the Liberty Stadium became limited.
