Barnsley vs Swansea City
Oakwell, January 22, 3pm
LAST season a lack of goals held the Swans back and saw them replaced in the play off places by Blackpool on the last day.
And while they are hardly setting the scoring charts alight this time around, their miserly defence has made them strong contenders.
The win over Crystal Palace on Saturday took them second and they will be hard to shift with such a strong home record.
An over-reliance on Scott Sinclair for goals might create a problem while they are a little vulnerable on the road.
SCOTT Sinclair has flourished since leaving Chelsea who snapped him up for £200,000 from Bristol Rovers when he was 15.
Despite just eight appearances for Chelsea, the winger built a reputation while on loan in the Championship and with Wigan last season.
A strong relationship with boss Rodgers – built at Chelsea – convinced him to join Swansea last summer.
And his 16 goals from the wing coupled with brilliant pace and pin-point crossing ability has been key to the Swans’ promotion push this season.
