Baggie your South Yorkshire Times!

A GOLDTHORPE shop owner has found a novel way to recycle his past editions of South Yorkshire Times - by making them into gift bags!

Colin Buxton, owner of Hollygrove Furniture Home Interiors and Gifts, on Barnsley Road, has added a personal ‘shabby chic’ touch to giftwrapping.

Colin, 29, said: “The customers love them - they are a great talking point. The bags are environmentally friendly and it saves people having to buy expensive gift bags.

“It takes practice, but once you have mastered the art it’s easy.

“I have made loads - it takes me about 30 minutes to make 10 of them. They make a perfect container for small gifts and every one is unique”.

The bags are folded from a double layer of Times newsprint, secured with tape and complete with string handle.
