AUDIO: ‘Three points vital for club - not me’ - Rob Jones press conference LISTEN IN FULL

Rob Jones has re-iterated his stance that victory tomorrow is vital for Doncaster Rovers - and not his own job prospects.

With Rovers said to be busy formulating a shortlist for the position of Paul Dickov’s successor, Jones is running out of time to enhance his own CV with wins.

His four games in charge have heralded two points and Doncaster go into this weekend’s derby just two points and two places better off than bottom side Crewe.

“I need a win because it’s what Doncaster Rovers need,” said Jones.

“It’s as simple as that.

“Like I said earlier in the week, it’s not about me, it’s about Doncaster Rovers.

“It’s not about individuals because individuals don’t win anything. It’s about the collective unit.

“We’ve got deliver,” he added.

“You can keep on saying ‘it’s coming, it’s coming, it’s coming’ but you’ve got to cement it. Yes we’ve been unlucky on two occasions, against Oldham and again on Tuesday night, but we’ve got to go out and get that win.

“We’ve shown some really good signs, that it is within our grasp.

“The reaction of the players after the game on Tuesday was pleasing. It showed they are desperate to do well and move the club forward. It means an awful lot to them.

“I was really pleased with that and also the performance for about 70 to 80 per cent of the game.”
