ROTHERHAM United’s eighth signing of the summer insists he has the right stuff to help the Millers win promotion this season.
Goalkeeper Conrad Logan penned a six month loan deal from Leicester City earlier this week and immediately targeted a promotion–winning campaign for his time in South Yorkshire.
The 25-year-old Irish shotstopper previously helped Stockport County win promotion from League Two and believes that experience will serve him, boss Andy Scott and Rotherham well.
He said: “I would like to think I know what this league is about and what it takes to get out of it and hopefully I can do that here.
“It’s important for me to get out and play games.
“Rotherham are very ambitious and so is the manager.
“I’ve been very impressed with the manager.
“He’s trying to do everything the proper way.
“He seems very ambitious and all the talk is about getting promoted, I’m looking forward to working with him.”
Millers boss Scott is hoping his working relationship with Logan extends beyond the initial six months but does not expect the deal to become permanent.
He believes Leicester will offer him a new contract should he perform well during his time at Don Valley.
Scott said: “Leicester see big things for Conrad, they rate him very highly.
“But credit to the lad, he wants to get out and play games. “He will come in and add more competition to that position.
“Hopefully we can push the loan on and take it until the end of the season.
“Conrad has experience of getting promoted from this division and that it vital. “We’ve got a few lads that have come in now that have been promoted from this league so they know what it is about.”
Logan has a year to run on his deal with Leicester where he started his career in the youth system and made seven appearances last term.
Loan spells with Luton, Boston and Stockport followed and most recently he spent a period at Bristol Rovers.
His main goal with Rotherham is to land a regular starting berth which will only increase the competition for the number one jersey, with Jamie Annerson and Andy Warrington also major suitors.
Scott is reportedly close to landing his ninth signing of his bumper summer recruitment programme in transfer listed Peterborough left back Scott Griffiths.
The 25-year-old spent last season on loan at Chesterfield and has been told his services are no longer required by Darren Ferguson.
