DONS centre Lee Waterman is flying high at the top of the Rugby League’s try-scoring charts.
The former York City Knights back, who joined the club during the close season, heads the all competitions try-scoring chart with 17 touchdowns.
Team-mate Tom Hodson, a close-season signing from Wakefield Trinity Wildcats, lies in second place with 16 to his name.
Waterman is also one of three players, who have all scored six tries, currently sharing top spot in this season’s Challenge Cup campaign.
Winger Hodson (12) tops the Championship One try-scoring chart with Waterman lying second with seven.
Team-mate Paul Cooke is the top kicker in Championship One and he is also second (46) in the points-scoring chart. Hodson, who has taken over kicking duties in recent games, is 14 points clear of the stand-off.
“Both Lee and Tom have settled in very well as has Paul,” said Dons’ boss Tony Miller, “The fact that our outside backs have scored so many tries reflects the expansive game we are trying to play.”
