Doncaster is to become the new national headquarters for one of the UK’s fastest growing sports - footgolf.
The new National FootGolf Centre - including a Centre of Excellence and 18-hole footgolf course - will be opened at Doncaster College’s High Melton Campus on Friday.
Officials behind the venture say the eyes of the footgolf world will be on the High Melton facility.
Footgolf is played on a golf course using a size five football. The object of the game is to place the ball into the hole using only your feet in the lowest amount of shots possible.
Its growth in recent years has been linked to declining revenues at golf courses.
The first footgolf World Cup was held in 2012.
