Coach Paul Gerrard is on his way to Rovers according to current club Oldham Athletic.
The Latics have announced the goalkeeping coach has left Boundary Park in order to take up a role with Paul Dickov at Rovers.
Details of Gerrard’s role at Rovers are still unclear with the club yet to confirm his arrival.
Ex-Everton keeper Gerrard returned to former club Oldham as a coach in 2010 to join then-boss Dickov’s staff.
The 40-year-old former England U21 international also played for Nottingham Forest and Sheffield United during his on-field career.
Following Dickov’s departure from Oldham in February he was appointed caretaker manager alongside Tony Philliskirk.
Current Latics boss Lee Johnson admitted he was disappointed to see Gerrard leave but wished him well.
“I’m disappointed to lose Paul as we got on well and I enjoyed working with him,” Johnson said.
“There are no hard feelings and I wish Paul all the best at Doncaster which is a great club.”
Dickov has been tipped to bring in Brian Horton and Paul Baker as part of his backroom staff but has admitted off-field staff is not his current priority area.
