Clive Griffiths hopes to see the spirit of Headingley repeated at Castle Park today.

Doncaster Knights host Cornish Pirates (2.30pm) hoping to continue their excellent start to life back in the second tier - and follow-up last weekend’s morale-boosting derby win at Yorkshire Carnegie.

Today’s match is the last round of Championship fixtures prior to a month-long break for the British & Irish Cup.

And Griffiths hopes to temporarily sign off with a fourth league victory out of five.

“It is important for us to maintain our good start and build on last Sunday’s win,” said director of rugby Griffiths.

“We have a huge game [today] and we want to back last weekend up with a strong showing in front of our own fans.

“Again I want to thank the hordes of Donny fans that came over to support on Sunday.

“It was a huge boost for the players and we want to produce another good display at home for you [today].

“When Saturday night comes we want to be four wins from five games and then take that momentum throughout the B&I Cup, ready to go again when the Championship returns.”
