KNIGHTS new boy Dante Mama has been called up to represent Great Britain Sevens at the World Student Games.
The former Leicester Tigers utility back signed for Doncaster in May following the completion of his studies at Loughborough University.
He will travel to France next week as part of a British squad coached by former Doncaster player Russell Earnshaw.
Mama, a former Zimbabwe U20s international, said: “It is a great opportunity on the Sevens circuit and helps me develop a range of skills across different forms of the game.
“We will be going there to win in a very competitive environment.
“It will be my last student competition on the highest stage so I am really looking forward to it.
“While away on Sevens duty I hope to carry on learning and bring more to my all-round game at Doncaster Knights.”
Mama joined up with the Knights last month after being part of Leicester Tigers’ Aviva Premiership final squad.
He added: “Pre-season training has been pretty hard work so far, but very effective and hopefully starting early will put us ahead of the game come the season.”
