TEN of the Doncaster players who have helped secure the club promotion from Championship One this season, have signed contracts for the 2013 Championship campaign.
Among the players to have committed themselves to the Dons’ cause next year is former Super League star Paul Cooke, who has played an influential role in the club’s 2012 campaign since coming out of retirement at the turn of the year.
Other key players to sign a new deal include skipper Craig Robinson, star full-back Mick Butterfield and highly-rated prop Mark Castle, Mike Emmett, Craig Fawcett, Carl Hughes, Kyle Kesik, Dean O’Loughlin and Nathan Powley.
“I’m delighted that these key players are staying with the Dons as we move up to the Championship,” said boss Tony Miller.
“They have all played an instrumental part of our success this season and their new deals are just reward for their fantastic efforts.
“The club is well ahead of schedule with player recruitment for 2013 and we will be making further announcements soon.”
Added chief executive, Carl Hall: “This is tremendous news for the Dons and these signings further highlight our ambitions as a club. We are very excited about the future of the Dons and we hope our fans and supporters embrace our vision and take advantage of our fantastic season ticket offer this weekend.
“We are busy planning the future of the club and it’s important the people of Doncaster get on board and give the players the support they deserve as they’ve been fantastic value for money this year.
“I would like to say a big ‘thank-you’ to our fans for their continued support and I hope we can attract our biggest attendance of the season for our final home league game this weekend.”
