THE Dons are hoping to take advantage of Featherstone Rovers’ own struggles as they look to get their season back on track tonight.
Championship giants Featherstone are smarting after losing two of their last three games, seeing them drift six points off early leaders Halifax.
And the Dons will have fingers crossed that Rovers’ slump continues when they visit the Keepmoat (7.30pm).
Head coach Tony Miller has labelled the clash the Dons’ ‘toughest of the season’ and knows his side will have to be at their best to ensure they remain in touching distance of their visitors throughout.
He will also be keen on seeing his side register some points to help quash their status at the Championship’s lowest scorers.
They certainly found their scoring touch last weekend as they ran out 52-22 winners in the Challenge Cup win over South Wales Scorpions.
Prop Brett Waller is a doubt for tonight due to an ankle injury and Matt Carbutt is rated at 50/50 for a return from his knee ligament problem.
But Craig Fawcett will definitely miss out due to work commitments.
Featherstone coach Daryl Powell will give late fitness tests to Ian Hardman and Anthony England but has already seen Kyle Briggs ruled out with a knee injury.
Tonight’s game will be broadcast on Premier Sports.
