Paul Dickov has encouraged his side to stick together after slipping to a fourth consecutive defeat against play-off chasing Ipswich Town.

Injuries have ravaged Dickov’s small squad and forced him to field Liam Wakefield and Luke McCullough, both 19, as a centre back pairing.

But the Rovers boss insists the fit members of the squad must bind closer to prevent the side from slumping further into the mire.

“I’ve got to make sure the group we’ve got stay together,” Dickov said.

“You need the group to have the determination to dig their way out of this.

“When things aren’t going well, you’re losing and picking up injuries, there’s no better feeling than picking up a result. All our energy and focus will go into that.”

Dickov hopes to have two players back for Sunday’s clash with Millwall: “Having nine players out, and senior players at that, I’ve never experienced anything like that.”
