Rotherham Titans have confirmed that hooker Luke Cole has agreed a deal which will see him remain at Clifton Lane for the 2017/18 Championship season.

Cole, 23, joined the Titans during the summer of 2016 from Premiership side Gloucester, where he was part of their academy system.

Cole made his Premiership debut for Gloucester against Leicester Tigers in April 2016 and is also also represented the South West club in the LV= Cup.

Previously, Cole was part of the Yorkshire Carnegie academy. During his time at Leeds, he was dual-registered with Otley RFC in the National Leagues and impressed greatly.

Halifax born Cole made 15 appearances and scored three tries in his debut season for the Titans last year. The England U16 international caught the eye on several occasions with his ball-carrying ability, his work over the ball at the breakdown and with his set-piece work, all of which were outstanding.

“Titans have high hopes that Luke will progress further in the up-coming season, meaning Rotherham have secured a talented front row forward who will add significantly to the strength of the squad,” a spokesperson said.

Earlier this week, Titans confirmed that back-rower Tom Calladine had agreed to remain at Clifton Lane for a third season, and Tom Williams had also signed on.
