Deano is heading to the Euros

DEAN Winstanley has booked his place at the German Darts Championship after a successful qualifying campaign.

The Swinton-born thrower saw off Aaron Turner and Mark Jones to seal his place on the PDC European Tour event which will be held in Berlin next month.

The top 32 players in the world will be joined by Winstanley and 19 other UK-based qualifiers.

The first European tour event, the Austrian Darts Open, took place in April with Winstanley reaching the third round.

Winstanley is hoping to hold onto his place among the 16 best performing players in non-televised PDC events.

Those 16 plus the top 16 players in the world will earn qualification for July’s World Matchplay Championship in Blackpool.

Winstanley will compete at the UK Open which starts next week.
