Purvis cracks 81 in easy win for Hatfield

HATFIELD Main posted a 95-run win over Solly Sports South Yorkshire Cricket Alliance Division Two win over Shiregreen.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, Main made a match-winning 179-9, with Neil Purvis top-scoring with 81. Haroon James took 3-24.

Shiregreen were bowled out for 84 in relply, Andrew Moores (4-32) proving the pick of the Main bowlers.

Harworth bagged a two-wicket win over Denaby and Cadeby in a low-scoring game. Batting first, Denaby and Cadeby were bowled out for 77 - Doug Hinton claiming 3-23. In reply, Harworth (78-8) edged their way to victory with Simon Davies top scoring with a vital 27. James Sherratt took 3-23.

Wath sneaked home by 11 runs against Tinsley. Wath struggled to make 99 (Gareth Roebuck 29) as Mohammed Nadeem (5-22) impressed with the ball. Sam Whitham also took 5-22 as Tinsley were dismissed for 88. Daniel Sutter grabbed 3-22.

Forgemasters romped to a massive 271-run Division Three win over Adwick-on-Dearne. The Sheffield club 345-6 (Ryan Pugh 142, Liam Emmott 87) set Adwick a massive challenge. Only Robert Gamble (38 not out) offered any resistance as Adwick were bowled out for just 74.

Leaders Whitely Hall beat Scholes by 18 runs. Cameron McLean (3-21) and Ian Lewis (3-14) starred as Hall were bowled out for 78. Joshua Singleton took (4-4) and Dominic Proctor (3-19) in Scholes’ 60.

Eden Grove 151 all out (Shoaib Ahmad 53, Jack Duffield 30) beat local rivals Doncaster Town, for whom Mark Harris took (5-23), by 52 runs. The Town Fields club were bowled out for 99 in reply - Ahmad taking (3-31) to cap a fine display.
