Doncaster RLFC will consider returning to Castle Park next season, Carl Hall has told the Free Press.
The town’s rugby league club beat Whitehaven at the home of their cross code compatriots Doncaster Knights on Sunday, with pitch renovation work still ongoing at the Keepmoat Stadium.
Dons’ general manager Hall hailed the ground switch as a success and said he will explore the possibility of playing another fixture at the Armthorpe Road venue next year.
He said: “If the Keepmoat is unavailable again next summer, then playing at Castle Park is something we’ll look at.
“It’s something we’ve tentatively spoken about [with Knights].
“Next season is potentially a big one for us, with the incentive of promotion to the Super League.
“So rather than going on the road for a month, it could help us to play a game at Castle Park.
“Sunday was first class,” added Hall. “The Knights have been brilliant with us and I thought the atmosphere at the game was excellent.”
The attendance at Sunday’s game was 605.
