Utley helps Wombwell dispose of Sprotbrough

WOMBWELL Main picked up a 26 run victory from the visit of Sprotbrough in Division One as they found little resistance from their Doncaster opposition.FRACT AND DISTRICT
Sent in to the middle, Main owed much to the 56 run haul of Adam Utley and the eager support of Lee Angel (13) and Craig Parry (16no) as they posted 128-8 from their innings.
Michael Threapleton was determined to make the afternoon difficutl for the hosts as he produced figures of 4-33 with the ball.
Sprotbrough found themselves back in the pavilion for just 102 with only Tony Kaye, Gordon Laidlaw and Michael Threapleton reaching double figures.
Craig Parry snared 5-39 to aid the Sprotbrough destruction.
Frickley Colliery enjoyed a ten wicket success at Sandal with the home side struggling from the start thanks to smart stumping from Keith Whitehouse and strong bowling from Shane Payne who finished on 4-33.
Opener Shuttleworth and J Davies contributed the lion's share of Sandal's 109 tally as Lovepreet Singh took three wickets for 23 to back up Payne well.
Sandal used six bowlers in an unsuccessful effort to tame Colliery openers Stephen Secker (67) and Kevin Pearson (35) who guided them to 110 without loss in the 26th over.
DIVISION TWO
LEE Johnson hit a superb unbeaten 136 as Conisbrough cruised to a 130 runs success at Askern Welfare in Division Two.
Johnson helped his side register one of the highest knocks of the day as Conisbrough reached 256-3 with the centurian partnering Scott Lowe (70) to 179 for the third wicket.
In response, Welfare were dismissed for 126 with Ashley Towler (29) and Dean Smith (29) being the only ones to look comfortable.
Causing problems were Daniel Ward, who captured 3-34 from 12.3 overs, Tim Kelly 2-29 and Bob Fuller 2-16.
Upper Haugh continue to find life difficult as they lost by 77 runs when Whitley Bridge visited Wentworth Road.
Some solid batting from Joe Payne (46) and Eddie Wilson (28) put the meat on the Bridge total of 141 with Chris Cotton taking five wickets for just 31 runs.
But only Rob Oxberry (26) provided any opposition as Haugh were dismissed for 64 with J Peace and Carl Walton taking four wickets each.
Frickley Colliery ended the unbeaten run of Monk Bretton with a three wicket victory as the opening pace attack of Michael Jones proved too much.
Jones finished with 4-31 as the league leaders struggled with Kalburt (17), Clayton (13) and Gaskell (12) the only ones enjoying a lengthy stay as Bretton fell for 73.
Ashley Vickers picked up 2-6 before he helped stop an opening rot with the bat and turn Frickley around.
The first three wickets fell for a handful of rund but double figure hauls from Vickers, Ian Kitchener, George McIntyre and James Blacker had Colliery back on track for victory at 74-7.
Another outstanding all-round performance from Dean Woolsey guided South Kirkby Colliery to a three wicket victory at Darton.
