MEXBOROUGH karter Jordan Baines recovered from being knocked off the track to register a respectable finish in the first round of the Little Green Man Championships in Newark.
Nine-year-old Jordan was also knocked off the track in two of the qualifying heats but did enough to earn himself a 20th place position on the grid in the A final, ahead of 22 other drivers.

The Doncaster Road Primary pupil managed to get himself inside the top ten with an excellent driving performance but was bumped off once more in a crushing blow to his hopes of a fantastic start to the season.

Such a high standard was Jordan's performance that he recorded the sixth quickest lap of the day in competition with boys several years his senior while he managed to regroup after the setback in the final race to finish 16th.
