A TRIO of Dearne fighters will headline a bumper weekend of boxing action that includes two contests with titles on the line.
On Friday September 19 two local boxers will step through the ropes again as Stefy Bull and Stuart Brookes return to the ring in a pair of mouthwatering title fights at the Doncaster Dome while 24 hours later rapidly rising star Josh Wale begins his new season with a bout at Hillsborough Leisure Centre in Sheffield.

Brookes' return is set to be an emotionally charged evening as it will be his first competitive appearance since the tragic death of his brother and fellow boxer Scott in April.

Scott was a energetic and vocal presence at ringside for his brother's previous bouts and will be sorely missed come fight time.

Undefeated after the first 11 fights of his professional career, Brookes has earned a shot at the International Masters light-middleweight title currently around the waist of Taz Jones from Aberdare in Wales.

Jones won the vacant belt with a first round stoppage of Carl Drake in June and faces a tough first defence against the Mexborough fighter who continues to show improvement in the relative early stages of his professional career.

Brookes, 26 on Sunday, last fought in March when he comfortably beat Sherman Alleyne on points at Don Valley Stadium in Sheffield where he fully demonstrated his ability to control his opponent.
