POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a collision between a car and a motorcycle at Bolton-upon-Dearne left a man seriously injured.

The collision took place at around 1.15pm on June 5, at the junction with High Street and Church Street. It involved a black BMW and a blue Honda motorcycle.

It is believed that the motorcycle driven by a 60-year-old man from Barnsley was travelling along High Street towards Church Street.

Officers understand the BMW driven by a 44-year-old Doncaster woman approached the junction from Church Street and began to turn right on to High Street, when the collision with the motorcycle occurred.

The male motorbike driver suffered fractures to his right arm and leg and was taken to Rotherham District General Hospital to be treated. The BMW driver was not injured.

Anyone who witnessed the collision should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 506 of Tuesday 5 June.
