LORRIES have begun delivering 22 turbines to a controversial windfarm.
Doncaster Council’s planning committee granted permission for restrictions to be lifted at the Tween Bridge windfarm site near Thorne.
Objectors argued that the wind farm would be too noisy.
However, energy firm Eon, taking on the project, said noise emissions would be reduced because new types of turbines would be installed.
The turbines are being transported from Immingham using the M180, M18, A614, Greenland Lane, Johnny Moor Long Lane and Moorends Road to the site at off-peak travel times.
A spokesman for Eon said the wind farm could provide enough power to supply over 30,000 homes.
It is planned to be operational by next March.
