Kids got kitted out in helmets, armour and shields ahead of a Roman battle at the weekend.
A Roman Army invaded Doncaster on Saturday and Sunday and the soldiers marched through the town centre and into the Frenchgate centre before settling outside Doncaster Minster.
The young recruits were then trained up to join in the fun.
Museum staff and archaeologists were on hand to show off Roman artefacts found in Doncaster, including some from the recent excavations at Waterdale.
Arabian dancers also gave performances and there were gladiator fights each afternoon.
The free event was held as part of St Leger Festival Week.
