Dying Denaby dad Shane Bratby was defiant when a sick thug doused him in lighter fluid and threatened to burn him to death in his wheelchair...
But the horrific attack, which took place inside Shane’s Conisbrough disability shop in November, has proved too much for the entrepreneur – and he has now shut the specialist shop down.
Speaking to the Times this week, Shane, who suffers from a killer brain disease, said the final straw came in ANOTHER attack – days after he was almost burned alive.
This time, a thug started hammering at his locked shop door, while Shane was working inside.
Said Shane: “I tried to give it one last go after the lighter fluid attack. So I went back to work, but started locking the door.
“Then just days later, someone who would not have been one of my customers, started bashing on the door. I didn’t know him, but he told people nearby who saw him, that he was a friend of mine.
“So I’ve moved out and am just running my business online – although I’ve had a look at Doncaster’s Frenchgate Centre for a possible move – because I want somewhere with security.
He added:“I still can’t believe that a business like mine would targeted in such a way – it’s unbelievable”.
