The Met Office has forecast that for the most of today we can expect it to be generally cloudy, with many areas dry. Patchy rain is possible over northern Pennines with strong southwesterly winds.
There could be possible drizzle elsewhere, but mainly dry in the east with possible brighter spells. Feeling mild. Maximum temperature 11°C.
Tonight: Rain will become heavy for a time during the evening, then clear northern areas. Further outbreaks of rain will return towards dawn. Strong winds at first will ease. Minimum temperature 3°C.
Saturday: Outbreaks of occasionally heavy rain are expected in places during the day. A brisk southerly breeze will develop later. Maximum temperature 10°C.
The outlook for Sunday to Tuesday: Colder, but bright on Sunday with early frost. Showers, wintry on hills will develop later. Becoming windy. Showery on Monday, then colder on Tuesday with wintry showers on hills.
