‘Breast is best’ according to a group of Doncaster women who are helping mums who need support with breastfeeding.

The women are volunteer peer support workers for Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH) and help new mums across the borough.

This week they met to look at ways RDaSH could offer them more support and how they can improve the service they offer.

Christina Harrison, Assistant Director at RDaSH who oversees the volunteers, said: “Our volunteer mums offer fantastic help and support to other mums across Doncaster. They help new mums who are struggling with breastfeeding, and because they have breastfed their own babies, they can pass on really good ideas and tips. They offer an excellent service and we want to work with them to see if we can offer extra support.”
