DRUG abusers, their families and doctors were invited to an open day at a detox centre.
The New Beginnings unit, which helps people addicted to drugs, was opened for visitors to look around the centre, allotment and enjoy complementary therapy taster sessions such as cooking and arts and crafts.
Such sessions are just some offered to patients at the centre.
The open day was organised by Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH) which runs New Beginnings in Marshal Avenue, Balby.
Stuart Green, service manager, said: “The open day was a great success. We had around a hundred people through the doors from all over the Yorkshire area.
“The day gave people the opportunity to understand some of the services that are on offer to people in Doncaster who have substance misuse issues.
“We hope we demonstrated that recovery and breaking free from addiction is possible.”
