Village pub can be redeveloped

editorial image

Planning permission has been granted to turn a vintage Isle of Axholme pub into a retail and food hub.

The former Lincolnshire Arms, on the High Street, Luddington can now be used for retail and hot food take-away purposes.

North Lincolnshire council has added a condition limiting opening hours to between 8am and 11pm to protect the amenity of nearby residents in accordance with the North Lincolnshire local Plan.

Under the plans Owston Ferry businessman Tahir Mehbub the premises will have a 66sq metre shop area and a takeaway half that size.

It is understood that if the planning application was approved it would create four full-time and two part-time jobs. The development must take place within three years of permission being granted.

The Lincolnshire Arms was the village’s last remaining pub which closed in 2009.
