One in three children is living in poverty, and Hallam FM’s Cash for Kids Mission Christmas appeal, backed by The Star, seeks to reach these youngsters...an expected 21,000 plus, this Christmas.

There are over 300 drop off points across South Yorkshire, collecting gifts to support the campaign.

Mission Christmas sponsor Morfitt Smith have laid on an incentive to try and increase the amount of donations by adding a prize draw to the mix for those who visit their branches in Banner Cross, Hillsborough and Crookes in Sheffield.

Paul Batty, director at the estate agent, said: “At a busy time of year we wanted to offer something to keep reminding people to donate to Mission Christmas. Anyone visiting our branch with a donation will be entered in to a draw to win a trip to London worth £500 which we hope will incentivise more donations to ensure Mission Christmas is successful and no child goes without.”

A flurry of registrations for Cash for Kids Christmas Jumper Day on Friday December 9th have been received after it was exclusively revealed last week that ITV’s Text Santa has been scrapped this year, giving festive fundraisers a great chance to support a local campaign instead.

Car parking giant APCOA have pledged support for Mission Christmas by offering a discounted weekend ticket for Christmas shoppers visiting Sheffield City Centre to do their festive shop, with £1 from every £3.50 weekend rate ticket being donated to Cash for Kids.
