The star prize of a trip for two to New York is up for grabs as fashionable females prepare to battle it out to win best dressed at the St Leger festival.
Ladies from across the area will be upping the style stakes, in a bid to claim the Best Dressed Lady title at Doncaster Racecourse on DFS Ladies Day on Thursday, September 12.
Ladies Day forms part of the four-day annual Ladbrokes St Leger Festival, which is set to attract around 60,000 people to the Town Moor racecourse.
The winning lady will scoop a bumper prize package, which includes the New York holiday, courtesy of raceday sponsor DFS, as well as a host of pampering treatments, shopping vouchers, a weekend break and a meal for four.
There are also prizes up for grabs for the two ladies that are just pipped to the post on the day, as well as runners-up prizes for the ten finalists spotted by the best-dressed ‘scouts’ on the day.
The competition will be judged by representatives from Breast Cancer Care, The Crown Hotel, local business Beauty At Doncaster, fashion brand Coast and Visit Batwy who will select ten of the best dressed guests on the day, before they are whittle down to the final three. The final winner will be judged by DFS CEO Ian Filby.
The winner will be invited back to represent Doncaster Racecourse in Yorkshire’s Best Dressed Lady 2013 – taking place back at Doncaster on Racing Post Trophy Day Saturday 26 October.
Mark Spincer, managing director of Doncaster Racecourse, said: “Ladies Day is a fantastic social occasion, and the ladies in this part of the world never fail to impress with some stunning outfits and fashion statements. It really is the most glamorous day in our racing calendar, and a rare opportunity for ladies to pull out all the stops, get dressed up and enjoy a great day out at the races. And with the chance to win a holiday in New York, there is that added element of competitive spice, ensuring that ladies go the extra mile to look their absolute best.
“As part of our four-day Ladbrokes St Leger Festival, Ladies Day is one of the busiest racedays of the year at Town Moor, and we look forward to welcoming the ladies of the region to Town Moor on the day, dressed to impress and ready to enjoy a great day out.”
