Trio arrested after alleged assault

THREE people have been arrested in connection with an alleged assault which left a man with a suspected broken jaw.

Police were called to Rowms Lane, Swinton, at 9.10pm on Tuesday, July 17, following reports of an attack.

A man, thought to be in his late twenties, was taken to Northern General Hospital in Sheffield with a suspected fractured jaw.

The road was cordoned off for several hours from the Marriott Road junction to the roundabout close to the Lidl supermarket to allow officers to conduct further enquiries.

A police spokesman said: “The victim was release from hospital and is recovering at home.

“Police have since arrested three men in connection with the incident, and all three are currently on police bail pending further enquiries.”
