A MAN charged with stabbing his fiancee is on remand.

Lee Martin Rowlands, 36, has been charged with maliciously wounding Madi Moir and possessing cannabis just days before the couple were to find out if they had won a £25,000 wedding competition.

Miss Moir, who lived with Rowlands and her two young children in Hatfield Lane, Armthorpe, was being treated for stab wounds at Doncaster Royal Infirmary.

Rowlands’ plea and case management hearing has been set for June at Doncaster Crown Court. A provisional trial date has been set for July.
