The Christmas tree is up and the stockings are filled with what little childrens’ dreams are made of at Swinton Library.

Could it be a BMX, a scooter, a favourite game or a trip to Legoland?

Principal libraryy assistant Rita leary said: “We always used to have a letterbox for Santa and this year we thought it would be nice to have a change - so we put up a wishing tree.

“We filled each of the stockings with a chocolate and told the children they could take out and eat the chocolate, but only if they put a wish in.

“We gave them a little wish card to fill in and they wrote on what they wanted from Father Christmas. They love the tree, it is absolutely packed.”
