VIDEO: Tributes to teen, 18, killed in horror Doncaster crash

A teenager is dead and a 13-year-old is fighting for his life after a horror crash on a busy country road through a Doncaster village.

Bunches of flowers have been left at the scene of the accident, on the A18 High Street, where the crash happened on Saturday evening.

A red Seat Ibiza was involved with a collision at around 6.40pm. An 18-year-old man, the driver, died at the scene, while his 13-year-old male passenger was taken to hospital where he is being treated for life threatening injuries.

The 18-year-old man who died has been named locally as Tom Isle.

Scores of devastated friends left tributes. One read: “There will forever be a place for you in our hearts. Our lives will never be the same. Sleep tight Angel. Love you. Becky.”

Mourners were seen arriving at the site of the crash today. Two women hugged each other as they read the tributes. A group of tearful teenagers were also seen leaving the area.

Another tribute said: “Ginger, my brother, the memories we have will last forever. What am I to do now without my best friend!?

“I love you to pieces and will see you again. We’ll look after your Ash for you.

“I love you, my top man.

Rest in peace. Tom Duggan x.”

A dark green jacket and an empty bottle of beer had also been left alongside the floral tributes.

A devastated friend wrote that he was struggling to come to terms with what had happened.

“To Tom Isle, RIP. From Leeroy Butler. RIP bro. Thinking of you. I still can not get my head around it. Love you man. xxx”

Family also left messages at the scene.

One said: “RIP Tom. You will be sadly missed but never forgotten. Lots of love. Auntie Chris and uncle Ray. RIP darling xx.”

Another read: “RIP Tom. You will be sadly missed and never forgotten. You and grandad can tell each other jokes.

“Miss you loads, to a wonderful cousin. Lots of love Laura, Claz, Chantelle and Amelia Rose xxx.”

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident.

A spokesman for South Yorkshire Police said: “At around 6.40pm, it is reported that a red Seat Ibiza was involved in a collision on the A18 High Street, travelling towards Dunsville, near to Wyndthorpe Hall.

“An 18-year-old man driving the car suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.”

They said a 13-year-old boy, a passenger in the car, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and his condition was is described as critical yesterday.

The family of the teenagers are being supported by specialist officers and they have asked that their privacy be respected at what police described as ‘this difficult time’.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have been in the area, either walking or driving, at the time of the collision.
