Three of four lanes of a Yorkshire section of the A1M northbound were closed this morning after a multi-vehicle collision.

National Highways Yorkshire warned motorists to allow extra time for their journey because of the incident, in West Yorkshire.

They said: “There are currently 3 lanes of (4) closed on the #A1M north between the #M1 J47 and #A1M J44 due to a multi-vehicle collision. Emergency services are at scene along with #TrafficOfficers who are assisting with traffic management. Please allow extra time for your journey.”

At 11.45 they added: “All lanes have now reopened on the #A1M north between the #M1 J47 and #A1M J44 following the earlier accident. There are 50 min delays on approach with 5 miles of congestion so please allow extra time for your journey, however these will begin to ease.”
