Moorends man killed in road traffic collision

A man who died following a road traffic collision on Tuesday March 17 on Hilderthorpe Road in Bridlington has been named as Michael Anthony Bartlett (57) of Moorends.

The Scania heavy goods vehicle that Mr Bartlett was driving is believed to have collided with a kerb as he prepared to leave the Tesco store. It is thought that he may have been taken ill at the wheel.

The ambulance service attended and gave first aid before transporting the driver to Scarborough Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The circumstances of the collision and events leading to the death of the man are being investigated and anyone with information is asked to call Humberside Police on 101 quoting log number 46 of Tuesday 17 March 2015.
