A man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was hit by a car.

Police are investigating the crash, which happened in the Kimberworth area of Rotherham in the early hours of this morning (Saturday, February 13).

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said a man in his 20s was hit by a car in Deepdale Road at about 12.50am. The man suffered serious and potentially life threatening head injuries as a result of the incident and has been taken to hospital where he currently remains.

A second man is also thought to suffered minor injuries as a result of the incident.

Deepdale Road is closed while officers continue with the investigation.

Detectives investigating the incident have appealed for witnesses to get in touch on 101 quoting incident 42 of February 13.
