Doncaster job-seekers are invited to come forward to get work experience and access to a range of training opportunities at a supermarket with a difference.
Training provider APB Doncaster has teamed up with the Community Shop in Goldthorpe to offer those who are out of work the chance to take part in a six month training programme.
The store is the first of its kind to open in the UK and involves taking in surplus goods from other supermarkets to be sold on at a lower price to those in receipt of income support.
The training scheme involves volunteer work experience in the shop, along with other benefits such as help with CV writing and interview techniques.
Michelle Griffin, human resources manager, said: “The training really helps local unemployed people to gain new skills in a wealth of areas.”
