Train route hit by fires

Trains were delayed after grass caught fire near to the main line track at Rossington, Doncaster.

When Rossington firefighters arrived at the embankment near Stripe Road they found several areas of grass on fire and some of the flames were spreading towards a woman’s garden and conservatory.

A spokesman said a large amount of grass was involved. All trains were stopped during the incident, and the cause is believed to have been deliberate.
