WITH praise from the band themselves, tribute band U2-2 have The Edge over their competitors.

The acclaimed tribute act is providing the off-track entertainment at Doncaster Racecourse after an afternoon of racing on Saturday.

Rotherham-based guitarist Luke Pepper will join singer Andy Bagnall, drummer Andy Bott and bassist Steve Kean - of Auckley - for the Town Moor gig.

Luke - aka The Edge - said: “We’re really looking forward to it and we’re expecting a real buzz.”

Tickets are still available for the gig and raceday at www.doncaster-racecourse.co.uk, with two grandstand admissions, plus up to four children, for £12.

Racecourse MD Mark Spincer said: “We’ve enjoyed a great line-up this summer, and Saturday looks set to be another great day for both racing and music fans.”

Gates open at midday, with the first race at 2.10pm. U2-2 - formerly known as Achtung Baby - is expected to begin a live set just after 5.40pm.
