TALENTED young performers had the chance to leap into the spotlight and impress television star Hayley Tamaddon.

The former Emmerdale actress and winner of ITV1s Dancing on Ice show visited Danum Academy for the Starstruck Dance Festival to see some of the region’s best young dancers perform from ten different dance schools.

The talented toe-tappers had to impress their guest judge as they competed for prizes in ballet, tap, jazz and other styles throughout the four-day festival.

There was also the chance for the pint-sized competitors to receive a scholarship for the internationally renowned Arts Educational School in London or a cash prize towards their dance tuition.

Hayley, who shot to fame playing sassy Delilah Dingle in the ITV1 hit soap and studied ballet and jazz with Doncaster-born choreographer and dance teacher Phil Winston, was also on hand to give out trophies.
